Testimonial Hero Pricing & Review: Is it a good value for your money?

I. About Testimonial Hero

Testimonial Hero is a production agency that specializes in producing
testimonial videos for companies in various industries. They have a proprietary software that helps with the capture of testimonials, and they have a repeatable process that allows for the production of both on-site and remote testimonials. They are based out of Boston, MA, and they have been around for a while in the industry.

II. What is Testimonial Hero good at?

Testimonial Hero has a proven process and fairly efficient pricing as compared to higher-end, boutique agencies. Their videos all have a similar style and feel, so companies know what they are getting when they work with Testimonial Hero. They have templates for their particular style, which can help make the unpredictable nature of video storytelling more predictable for corporate brands.

They also incorporate some text graphics and software templates that they use across their videos, which give the videos some dynamic imagery besides just a talking head interview. This is important because interviewees never give you a perfect 90 second soundbite to use for the entire video, so you need to be able to make cuts and jump around in the interview when you edit. Testimonial Hero offers a straightforward solution to this.

III. About Testimonial Hero’s pricing:

Testimonial Hero’s pricing model mimics SaaS subscription services. They have tiered, annual subscriptions offerings:

1) Start: their starter tier starts at $6,510 and includes 35-59 credits/year
2) Build: this tier starts at $10,320/year and includes 60-179 credits/year
3) Grow: starts at $28,800/year and includes 180-359 credits/year
4) Scale: starts at $54,000/year and includes 360+ credits/year

Their testimonial credits cost a different number of credits, depending on several factors.

IV. Is Testimonial Hero good value for your money?

Testimonial Hero offers a solid, predictable process, and the videos deliver on a simple enough brief. And, if that works for your brand, then Testimonial Hero is a good option. At their price point, though, it is smart to expect some storytelling options beyond their simplified templates and to expect getting to work with storytellers who can help craft the messaging and story arc in such a way that makes the video more memorable. There is also some concern about what happens when the remote process does not go as intended. When there are few b-roll options, as is the case with Testimonial Hero, this can create a lot of issues trying to get to a final video that everyone is happy with.

“The project was quite expensive for the value - the remote testimonials were priced how I would think that in-person testimonials should be priced. The process also took quite a bit of back and forth and effort on our part.”
